Busy as an elf :P

Hiii,

Although I am off college for my Christmas Holidays now I have been keeping myself super busy completing all the different activities I wanted to do from the list in last post and more!

This week I have done more work on my elf boot pattern and have managed to completely finish one of them:

Fully lined with glittery Christmassy coloured fabric too :P

Just the other one to stitch up now, which shouldn't be too hard since I have made one of them I now know the easiest way to do everything. I reckon I will have them on my feet by Saturday morning as I have some time to sew tomorrow evening and Friday morning- between work at the tailors/dressmakers and me and my friends Christmas party :D

Hehehe, then I really can run around like a mad, busy elf, lol!

Other festive crafting I am doing involves making 8 of the mini yule logs (from the pattern I posted up :) for when some family friends come round on Sunday, only 1/2 of one left to knit and then the making up/decorating to do:

I will definitely have them done!

Today I managed to wrap my first presents of the year- for my friends, ready for our party :D (and I made all my present labels for everyone):

And me and my dad made this sweetie tree:

Mmmm, yummy!

I am off now to go and relax in my bath now, with- you guessed it- Christmassy bubble bath in it! Heheh, then it is time to get back to working on those mini knitted yule logs so I can start on my next knitting project- cute Christmassy headbands for my little cousins :-)

See you all soon, I hope you are well :)

Domo/monster innocent hats

Hi,

As many of you will know I have begun making hats for the innocent smoothies for this years big knit :)

Domo is a big part of my life and his latest bit of inspiration rubbed off on some of my hats :P

Here they are:

I made a brown one and a pink one- the traditional colours, but I may start making some random coloured little monsters too!

To make a monster/Domo hat it is pretty similar to the basic pattern but you just have to include a red intarsia square and some little teeth and eyes;

Pattern-

Using 4mm needles and the main colour DK you have chosen for your Domo/monster hat cast on 28sts

Knit two rows of k1, p1 ribbing

row 3- k 11 sts in brown, swap to red and k 5 sts, then swap back to brown and k the last 12 sts (using intarsia method of bringing different coloured yarns across back of work)

row 4- p 11 in brown,  p 5 in red, p12 in brown

Repeat rows 3 and 4 two more times :)

row 9- k across whole of row in brown

row 10- P across whole of row in brown

Repeat rows 9 and 10 2 more times

row 14- K2tog across (14sts)

row 15- P2tog across (7sts)

To finish thread yarn end through remaining stitches on needle, draw up and sew down back of hat- darn in and cut all loose ends also. Then using black yarn give your little monster two eyes and stitch/stick on some small strips of white felt which have been cut with pinking shears along one edge.

All done

Hahaha, I hope you like the hats-  I will have more to show you soon, I am sure of it :0)

See you soon,

Vintage sewing patterns and fabric

Hi

I forgot to mention in my holiday posts that when I was in an antique style shop I found a whole box of vintage sewing patterns :) I got sew excited (lol :P) because they were all only about 90p each and some of the garments looked so pretty! I picked up my 3 favourite ones and then later in a vintage themed craft shop I found a neatly tied up bundle with a vinatge bedspread and pillow cases in it- for only £10! It had a pretty flower pattern on it and I thought it would be great for making up some of the patterns in:

I think I am going to get started on the trouser and top set tommorrow, Yay! Then I will have a cool vintage outfit to wear :-)

I hope you all had a lovely weekend :o)

See you soon,

Byeeeee XXXX

A cat and a chilli

Hey guys :)

Last week I finished another one of the Christmas cross stitch kits I have been working on, here it is:

I said to my friends he either wants a hug or is doing Jazz hands and they all decided it was jazz hands and named him Jazz cat! Lol :0)

I like Jazz cat! <3 Next I am making a penguin one which my friends have already decided will be called Pingu!

I also finished this little knitted chilli pepper:

Hehehe, it is to go on a present for my brother for Christmas  (he likes chillies! :) I made up the pattern myself and decided to call him Mr Hot 'N' Spicy :P

I hope my brother likes him!

I am off to work on more of my Christmas crafting, so much to do so little time!

See you all soon,

Bye! :D

Hello lovely readers!

I thought I would have a bit of a catch up post as there are quite a few random bits and pieces I wanted to tell you all about :)

Firstly was the bargain of the century I picked up last week.........................

The book only cost me 49p and it had some really amazing patterns in it!

I even found inside a project perfect for using my hello kitty buttons on, some little slipper socks :D

I am going to make the main sock and straps in this colour yarn:

Then for the rim of the sock (done in a crochet edging) I am going to change to white and finally attach my fab buttons. Im soo excited, Im starting them today!

Another thing I did recently was finish this little sushi cutie:

I call her RICE BALL!!! :) I loooovvveee her sooo much xxxx, I wish my real bento could be that cute! :3

The pattern is here for anyone who wants to make their own little foodie friend: http://handmadekittyblog.blogspot.com/2010/04/onigiri-couple-amigurumi-crochet.html

If you remember back to my blog tour you will know I gave away some little cookie buttons. The winner, Barbara, said she was going to put them on some dolls for charity. This morning I recieved an email with this picture of the dolls with my buttons :) They are absoloutely fab! and are going to be sent to children in Africa suffering with AIDS.

It is such a great cause and Im sure the kids will be over the moon with the dolls, well done Barbara!

Thats about it for the catch up really, Im off to start on those slippers and eat the cookies I made this morning......

They are toblerone and white chocolate, YUM! :P

See you all very soon,
