A patchwork charm bag for me :)

Hellooo,

I hope you are all well :)

This weekend apart form some costume history work (I am planning to do a post soon on some of the stuff I am learning in that lesson as it is very fun and interesting- I may even make some mini garments for my doll from the times so they can model and show you all 'the look' :-P) I didn't have tons to do which was good as it means I got to start another craft project!

I was inspired by the pouch I saw on Steph's blog which she made to put some Halloween treats in. I decided to start making a similar patchwork style purse/bag out of different bits of scrap fabric and all the findings, charms and beads I have been collecting for so long and haven't got round to using yet!

I want to make each square/patch say something about me or what I like, I have only got the main sides done so far, still the flap and then all the sewing together and lining left to do but here are some work in progress pics;

Hehe, I love sponge bob so he had to be featured :P
I also love apples!
I think leopard print is really cool, and different cool/cute dolls which is what I put the Russian doll fabric in for :)
The little scrap of African fabric in the corner under Spongebob was given to me By Stefany the dressmaker where I work sometimes so that is special to me too :3

My sweet tooth is also huge!

Christmas is probably my favourite holiday of all time!!!

With Halloween coming close because cute creepy stuff is amazing too!

I don't have too much stuff going on Tuesday so I will probably get down to work and try to finish it then. I reckon I will manage it as now I am back at my uni house I can use my machine which I brought with me, at home I have been hand sewing everything (which I don't mind actually) :P It is so much fun just being so creative with it and sewing on all the ribbons and buttons and charms making it all personal to me!

See you all again soon,

Build-A-Bear couture

Hello,

In my free time in the evenings after college I have been pottering making a dress for my Build-A-Bear bunny I made for my 18th birthday (Called Georgia :) I managed to finish it tonight :P It is a little bit dodgy in places mainly because by the evenings the light in my room is pretty terrible! hahaha :oP

Here it is;

My inspiration was the beautiful African style dresses that Stefany (the dressmaker at the tailors I work at when I can) makes. I love them soo much I knew I had to try and make my own version and Georgia was moaning that she didn't have enough clothes (she is a bit of a diva :P) so I thought why not make one for her? :-)

I went with a one shoulder dress with a nice big collar/neckline, a diagonally attached flaring skirt and I even fully lined the bodice hehehe I think it gave me some practice at my pattern cutting skills that's for sure!

I will definitely be making Georgia some more outfits soon so I can try some more designs to practice. Which reminds me I think my Blythe girls need some love and attention in the fashion department too, they have been a bit neglected what with me starting uni- I will get on that over my holiday which is coming up soon.

I'm off to get some sleep now ready to continue my mask which is what we are making as part of out trying out of the props course (we do these little taster days of the other degrees at the college so that we can understand other peoples crafts and skills and respect their part in putting on a production :). Mine is going well... I think :P It is going to look a bit like Medusa I think, but we will see!

Here is the base of it that I have to paper mache:

lots of paper and gluing tomorrow.... lots!

Hahaha see you all soon, and please do check out my shop (just click the button at the side of the page :) as I listed loads of new items last weekend- lots of fun food brooches that I hope you will all like!

I hope you are having a lovely week so far,

Calling from Copenhagen!

Hi everybody,

Haha, yes I am actually in Copenhagen, in Denmark doing this post :P As the last part of our family summer holidays me and my family booked to come to Denmark for four days- none of us had ever been before so it has been cool discovering stuff alltogether. Today is our last day and I think we are going to the Guiness World Record Museum, which looks cool as I think there is some Marylin Monroe style dresses there for me to stare at :P

Yesterday we went to Tivoli Gardens- the theme park in the centre of Copenhagen that inspired Walt Disney to build Disneyland and that Also inspired some of Hans Christian Andersons Stories. Hans Christian Anderson lived in Copenhgen and was born in Denmark so we went to the mini Museum about him too, it had a series of pieces of paper which he had actually written on of his stories on, which apparently cost millions of Danish Kroner for them to buy!

Anyway, back to Tivoli :oP

There was a lot less ques than there are in places like Disneyland which was good as it meant you could pretty much get on anything you wanted in one day. I went on tons of rides with my brother and my parents came on a few- but I was the only one brave (MAD!) enough to go on star flyer- basically an extremely tall chairoplane:

I still don't know how I managed to get myself on to it, I suppose it was my curiosity of what it woud be like to be flying high in a little chair!? I am the one in the middle of the picture, some how my dad managed to get a picture of me all the way up there:

Haha, I was holding on Verrrrryyyy tightly but I was having fun, and the view was amazing, I think I could see the whole of Copenhagen :P I could see all of the park and quite a lot outside it too. I felt quite refreshed after I got off too- it must have been all of the fresh air up there, it was so windy!

Tivoli was very pretty, I could see why it had inspired so many people:

I'm off now because me and my family are off for breakfast so we can get on and get out :) But one more funny thing before I go- Over here Strawberries are called Jordabaer, which has mde me laugh because it is so close to my name (Jordan :), I am a little strawberry! :P

See you all soon, I hope you are having a lovely weekend,

Bye! xxx

P.S. I will bring you the last few pictures from my holiday when I get home, and don't forget if you haven't already to vote for the name in the fuzzy Llama giveaway as there isn't long left now :0) xxx

Bye xoxoxx

On my way to the runway

Yo people!

I have finally got round to actually knitting up my design idea for the project yarnway challenge on ravelry!!!! It took me a while as I had to knit a tension square first, then print out some knitters graph paper and colour in all the little squares to create my design before I could finally pick up my needles. Don't get me wrong though I enjoyed it all its just nice to actually start making and see it all coming together :)

I'm reeeeaaalllyyy pleased with how its coming out, the words are really clear. Its cool to watch all the sayings appear before your eyes as you knit each row. (I'm also secretly happy with my intarsia, especially as I'm pretty in experienced with it but its coming out quite neat! :D)

I'm definitely using this bag when its finished. Ive got to get a move on though as its due on the runway by the end of May...

I'm off to knit a couple more rows,

Bye!

p.s If you notice that any of your comments are not shown on the blog anymore it is not because I deleted them. Blogger crashed about a week ago and they have been lost in cyber space I think :( Hopefully they will come back soon!

See ya xxx
