My New Room :D

Helooo,

My room is now complete- from top to bottom! So now I bring you pictures- of mainly my parents hard work :P I tidied but they did all the painting and DIY and hard stuff.

Though I did help with the painting of my multi-coloured fireplace:

It was my dads idea and we painted it together :)

Here is my new sewing table- my pride and joy, my baby... you get the point! :D I even now have a proper lamp so I can see what I am doing for once:

And my new craft storage boxes make my crafting life a lot easier:

Hahah, yes all of that is only my craft materials. I have collected lots over the years :-)

I have a teddy hammock for all my cute plushes- me and them combined were getting too much for my bed to hold up! And my dad kindly treated me to a new TV because my old one was broken, so I can now watch Create and Craft shopping channel in the morning :oP

My bed- I went with leopard and zebra print because I think it's Jazzy, and my new house shaped bejewelled mirror:

Hehehe, and now the last of my room pictures- my new fluffy doorstop friend, Mr piggy (yet to have a full name! :P):

Sooooooooo cute! and he does his job very well :-3

So thank you verrry much again to my parents for helping me and funding my room makeover!

I hope you are all having a lovely week,

I will see you soon  with a list of entries for the fluffy llama giveaway, which you only have a day left to enter so don't miss out on the fun! :)

Cooking and crafting

Hi friends,

Since I got home I had really been craving those 'Maxibon Cookie' ice creams, I had a check in my local supermarkets but none of them sold them :/ But then I thought what do I normally do when I can't find what I would like? I try to make it :0) So that is what I did, me and my brother bought some cookies, ice cream and chocolate and attempted to re-create the deliciousness! We had to work really fast as you could feel the ice cream melting. They weren't very neat but they were tasty :P:

Another thing that was very tasty was the chocolate bunny me and my dad made together today!:

I bought my dad the mould and chocolate as a birthday gift as he really likes cooking and today we gave it a go, it was very fun. The chocolate came out very thick as I bought my dad a 1kg bar of Cadbury's and we ended up using it all :-P We didn't eat it all this evening though, promise!

In amongst all the chocolate and ice cream eating/making I have been doing some crafting though, Here is the little sign I made as a present for my mum and dad:

It is made out of scrabble tiles and I made up the little rhyme myself :o) A while ago my mum gave me a bag of scrabble tiles that she found in my brothers games cupboard, I kept thinking what to do with them and finally came up with the sign idea, my parents really liked so I was happy. I might try making a little door plaque for myself out of some of the remaining tiles.

I'm off to bed now as I am quite tired after spending the afternoon chocolate making :P Also I have got to get up my energy too as tomorrow me and my brother are making another batch of the cookie ice creams for when my nan and grandad come round in the afternoon!

See you all soon,

3KCBWDAY7 - Crafting Balance

Hi,

I can't believe it is the last day of knitting and crochet blog week already! It has gone so quick! Ahhh well they say 'time flys when your having fun'!

Crafting Balance Are you a knitter or a crocheter, or are you a bit of both? If you are monogamous in your yarn-based crafting, is it because you do not enjoy the other craft or have you simply never given yourself the push to learn it? Is it because the items that you best enjoy crafting are more suited to the needles or the hook? Do you plan on ever trying to take up and fully learn the other craft? If you are equally comfortable knitting as you are crocheting, how do you balance both crafts? Do you always have projects of each on the go, or do you go through periods of favouring one over the other? How did you come to learn and love your craft(s)?

I am very happy to say I can both crochet and knit! :D

I started knitting because I wanted to make knitted toys like I kept seeing in the shops. My mum taught me the basics like how to cast on and off and knit and purl stitch and now I am continuing to learn new knitting techniques myself :)

I came to learn crochet because in all the knitting magazines I bought there would always be crochet patterns and it made me sad when I saw cool projects but couldn't make them. I felt like a whole fun-filled world was closed off especially when I saw super cute amigumi patterns! I found it quite hard to learn crochet as I had to completely teach myself. No one I knew knew how to crochet so they couldn't steer me in the right direction when I was  getting things wrong but with the help of Youtube and the very friendly people over at Ravelry I got there in the end and I am so happy I did :-) Now I am continuing work on learning more advanced crochet skills such as different stitches and as I mentioned yesterday I reallly want to try crochet intarsia soon.

In answer to how I balance my crafts, it usually just happens! :0P I choose (or design :o) a project that I want to do, whether it be crochet or knitting, and usually I end up alternating between knitting and crochet. I think I will start being more concious soon to make sure I get learning all those skills I want to learn for both crafts!

Thank you all soo much for reading my posts this week (and thanks for all the other times you have stopped by and read them :) I hope you had fun! I have had TONS!!! of fun and have read so many interesting posts but other knitting and crochet bloggers :D

Thank you very much to Eskimimi makes for organsing the whole thing!

See you all again very soon,

Bye xxxXxx
