Better connection :)

Hi,

I'm glad to say that the Internet connection here in the IOW is much better so I can now come and give you all some updates!

Me and my family had a good time in Lyme Regis but the highlight of the trip would definitely have to be Rolys Fudge! It was absolutely delicious and melt in the mouth sugary goodness!

There were lots of different flavours from chocolate and honeycomb to lemon meringue and chilli (which was pretty hot actually!). They also had a range of fudge sauces which are yummy too (I have been eating them on ice cream warmed up! Mmmm):

And the good news is they have on online shop so I can order more fudge for special occasions at home! If you like fudge (or even if you dont- my dad doesn't but he did like rolys fudge :p) it is well worth treating yourself I would say: https://rolysfudge.co.uk/

Me abd my family have  also been having a good time in the IOW.

I have been collecting bits for a giveaway when I get back- so keep your eyes peeled! :-)

I have also had some time to get working on my next items for my shop.... using some cool fabric I got on my holiday travels. :) here is a teaser pic:

If you are intrigued keep an eye on my shop as my new items will be up within a week!

Today we went shopping in Newport and I think tomorrow we are going to play bowling and then head on to the chocolate apothecary for lunch- I can't wait!

I will leave you with this picture of stone henge I took from the car while stuck in traffic when on my holiday travels... It really is fascinating stone henge, isn't it? :)

Ooh, and also this pretty picture of some pink seaweed I think, that  I took on the beach at lyme regis when fossil hunting, it has given me some inspiration for some textile art/felting projects as I thought it was very pretty in a way:

Hehe, see you all again soon.I hope you are well,

Bye xoxoxo

Happy holiday

Hello,

I hope you are all having a lovely week! I am in the IOW with my family, it is nice to get to spend some extended time with them rather than just the weekend :)

As usual in the IOW I have found some very cool stuff- I got a personalised rice keyring!!!!! In Arreton Barns (this little craft village and farm shop) there was a artist there who wrote whatever words you wanted on a grain of rice and then you could choose any pretty keyring or necklace to have it preserved in, I was like 'WOW, I have got to get one of those!' :P He was very nice, he usually makes these pretty clay angel statues and had just started rice writing. I got 'Jordan' written on one side and 'Costumier' written on the other as that is the career I am training for and what I love. Heheh it was quite difficult to try and get a good picture of due to it's tininess but I did try:

he guy told me which type of pen you needed to write small enough so I may try and get one so I can write little messages on rice- it feels so fun and special :)

In the time I am not munching on yummy flapjack in the Chocolate Apothecary (a lovely café) or looking around the little shops I have been working on outfits for my lalaloopsy doll, here is my first finished article:

I added lots of trim, a big ribbon and some lace applique to make it super pretty and cute! I also went with black and white as my theme to give a more gothic cut style ready for Halloween.

My next outfit I have started is a sleeveless jumpsuit in green donut fabric- my pattern drafting skills must be getting better as I managed to draft some tapered trousers for the bottom part of the jumpsuit from lalaloopsy's measurements that actually fit right first time! Hahaha- that is a first :P here is a work in progress picture of them- they still need hemming and some serious pressing and of course the addition of the sleeveless top half:

I am of now to do some more work on it an maybe even get it finished!

See you all soon,

Bye XXX

Happy holiday happenings

Hello,

I hope you are all having fun in the summery sun, well, when it is not hidden by the clouds :oP

I am having a great time in the Isle Of Wight (as usual :) and thought I would bring you an update of what I have been up too.

First up- the tale of the giant cucumber! Me and my family went to 'Farmer Jacks' farm shop to get some stuff for tea and in the vegetable baskets we found some HUGE cucumbers so we picked up one (the biggest one :-)

Here it is, it is absolutely massive!!!:

It tasted nice too, the lady in the shop said they aren't usually so big but what with all the sun and then the downpours of rain they had thrived. (the small slice in the picture is a slice from a normal sized cucumber!- not a tiny one or anything)

Hahaha, from giant cucumbers to cool one-man band music machines it is all here in the IOW, yes one man band music machines..... you did not read wrong :P

At Quay Arts- the mini art gallery and shop on the island, there latest exhibit was of this music machine :) Just turn the handle and the wheel rotates and plays a happy little tune on the piano, the drum bangs and the umbrella attached at the
 side spins too!:

Quay Arts is always fun to visit as you never know what will be there but it is always something that makes you smile or makes you think :0)

Here is just a cool picture of the hovercraft coming into the dock/beach that my dad took when we were watching them today:

We did get a lot of sand in our faces though when one of them turned to go on its way and its propellers blew a gust of it straight at us! ahh well it was still fun watching them :)

In the evenings I have been working on this little craft kit my mum got me before we went away- I have sewn the body and arms and ears so far, pictures will of course come when my little bunny is finished ^o^:

And here is a picture of the great bag my dad generously treated me to in a fair-trade shop:

I loved it at first sight-All the little details and pretty colours. It was handmade in India and due to different pieces of scrap fabric being used to make it each one is completely individual. I am saving it to use a little rucksack for when I go to Uni  (:

We are almost at the end of my update now but I have got to mention the Vintage antiques fair we stopped off at this morning. I wasn't sure how much I would find when I walked in but on one table there was a whole stack of old sewing, craft and cross stitch books- all at only £1 each! I looked through all of them and found 6 I really couldn't put down. I can't wait to read all of them cover to cover, I have just got to finish off the two books (about sewing too :) I am reading at the moment first.

Hehehe, sorry, you can all go and give your eyes a rest now, I am done!

See you soon with more updates (if you can all face anymore :P),

Hello again!

Hello!,

It has been longer between posts that normal because for the last few days I have been the Isle Of Wight and we didn't really have Internet access there so I couldn't come chat to you :P I had a great time, I got some great fabric bargains and I also bought and ate alot of yummy handmade fudge- honeycomb and millionaire shortcake flavour, mmmmmmmmm! Hehehe I still have some left but I am sure not for long :0)

In the evenings I also managed to get a lot further on the Twinkie Chan Pizza scarf I started making ages ago, I just have the sauce, crust and toppings left to do now:

It is very long, I'm sure it will keep m very warm, even though it is coming up to summer that is still good as I am always cold!

Before I went away I also finished this Dolphin cross stitch kit:

I think it is soo sweet. I have got a little collection of mini cross stitch kits that I have finished building up. I will have to start thinking of something to do with them :P

I hope you have all been having a nice time and now I am back I am thinking of doing another giveaway soon so keep your eyes peeled! :)

See you soon,

IOW holiday pictures and the paralympics

Hi,

As promised I have complied some of my best pics I took while on holiday :) Hehehe, I hope you enjoy them. I love to share my holiday with you all! :0)

Here are some of the beautiful koi in the ponds at Butterfly world, I really enjoyed seeing them all, so many pretty colours and patterns:

Hehehe, a monkey having his lunch at monkey world- such a cute little guy!:

As I mentioned me and my brother made dinner for my parents a couple of evenings, but as I also mentioned I forgot to take a picture of the first meal before we ate it all, lol! I did remember for the second meal though so here are the dough balls and pasta bake we made :)

Everyone enjoyed it so I was happy :D

We stayed at Sandown this time. It has a really nice old fashioned sea side feel there. Here is a sunny view of the beach!:

There is always good stuff to buy in the IOW that is one of the reasons I love there so much. These are the beautiful masquerade style masks my mum treated me to:

and here are the cross stitch kits too...

.... I am very lucky! :-)

This is the little seaside bear stitch kit I finished, very appropriate seeing as I was staying at the seaside, lol!

That is all my holiday snaps..... for now, hehehe :P I will post a picture of my vintage dresses nearer my birthday and a picture of the monster high doll dress when it is finished :)

In other news- yesterday I went to the see some of the Paralympics, we had a day pass so I got to see two events in the end. I saw wheelchair basketball and goal ball, I hadn't ever seen either of them before (like when I saw handball at the Olympics- I hadn't seen that before either) so it was very interesting. They were both enjoyable to watch and it was fun to see different stadiums/arenas too :0)

See you all very soon,

Bye :0)

Butterflies, fish, monkeys (and more shopping!)

Hola,

I had a bit of a temporary trouble with the internet, thats why I didn't check back sooner :0) I hope you all had a lovely weekend!

On Thursday me and my family went to butterfly and fountain world. It was my choice, even though I have a mild fear of butterflies and moths, because I wanted to see the koi carp in the japanese garden there. (I took pictures but am having trouble uploading :/ so will have to wait till I get back)

On Friday it was shopping day :P Hehehe, there were some lovely masquerade style masks in one shop and my mum said I could choose one as a treat :D I chose a glittery light  purple one with pearl style string beads dangling from it :-)

On Saturday my aunty came over on the hover ferry to spend the day with us and we went to the owl and monkey haven. All the monkeys we soooo sweet one called 'fudge' kept us all very amused he just kept picking grass and eating it, lol! He acted more like a cow! :P

Today we had lunch at Chocolate Island, I had a piece of chocolatey caramel shortcake :0) It was deeellicious (I would send you all a piece if I could :). Then we did some strolling and a bit of shopping I got a couple more masks, a pretty purple cat one and a blue harelquin one in one shop. Then in another my dad treated me to a little recycled paper flower brooch. In a fossil shop I found a bookmark with the heiroglyphic alphabet on it, it was super cool and when I took it to the counter to pay for it the shop owner (Jurassic Jim, lol :P) gave me a mini egyptian quiz, for the prize of a scarab beetle bead. I got the question wrong- it was why do the egyptians like scarab beetles so much; because they thought a giant one rolled up the sun into the sky each morning (scarab beetles are kind of like dung beetles). Jurassic Jim gave me the prize anyway though, lol he was very nice :0D

Tommorrow we are off to mini golf and then me and my brother are cooking for my parents again. I will try to remember to take pictures before eating it all this time though :P I might also manage to finish the mini teddy bear on the beach cross stitch kit I started a while ago and have been working on recently :)

See you all soon,

Mini shopping spree + some sights :)

Hi everyone,

The meal me and my brother cooked for my mum and dad went well they thought it was very tasty :0) we made mexican pizzas and some wedges (the wedges were a little bit hard though but still ok - me and potatoes don't get on well, they are always slightly hard whatever I do! :/) I forgot to take a picture though and when I remebered they were already gone :P

To make up for it I took some pictures of the places I went today :o)

Here is steephill cove, it is a very pretty place a kind of secret of the island as it is so small and secluded:

And here is a picture of the tropical garden (there are lotttss of different gardens) at Ventnor Botanical Gardens, it is very pretty there too! So many lovely flowers and trees :)

Today we also did a bit of shopping, In my fave craft shop on the island my mum treated me to 6 mini cross stitch kits!!! (mouseloft stitchlets :) I chose a butterfly, a cupcake, a teapot, a rabbit, a dolphin and a Chinese fan one :D In another shop I treated my self to some different embroidered patches as they were on sale at only 50p each! They were mainly american themed and I thought they would look cool if I sewed them onto a pair of jeans :)

There was a fairly new vintage clothes shop in Ventor which was soo cool to look around, I really want to study costume at university so it was fascinating to see all the old clothes, it was seriously like going back in time. Some of the dresses and coats were so beautiful.

Hehehe, I am off to watch Big Brother now (lol, my guilty pleasure :P) and start one of those cross stitch kits (if I can with all the arguing on the show!),

See you all soon, I hope you are all having a lovely week xxx

Bye :-)

Back home!

Hi everybody!

I am back now :-) I had a brilliant time in the IOW despite lotssss and lotsssss of rain! Due to the rain I didn't manage to take many pictures around the Island but when the rain did finally stop for about and hour I managed to get outside and take these pictures of the mill where we were staying :)

Hehehe, I  kept trying to give the chickens a hug but my dad said I never would never manage to catch one, Rocky could barely do it in the films!

There were baby ducklings but they were hidden away in the nest, there were also some baby birds who had nested in a crack in the walls of our cottage, they were super cute but I didn't want to disturb them by taking a picture!

This is the view from the highest point on the mill land and there is a nice little bench you can sit on at this point too:

The rain meant lots and lots of shopping, which is never a bad thing :D

I got lots of different bits and pieces but one of my fave buys was this pin cushion:

It was handmade in Mandarin, I love the tiny people around the edge! <3 I think I am starting to build up a pincushion collection.... :0)

The rain also meant lots of staying indoors and crafting (and watching all the Jubilee celebration T.V!), I managed to get quite a bit further on the mermaid costume I am making for my dolls, just a few more beads left to sew onto the tail now :)

I hope you all had a fantastic week too and the giveaway I promised is coming up tomorrow so keep your eyes peeled!!! :0)

See you all soon,

Happy Easter everyone! =:0)

Hi,

HAPPY EASTER!!! (:<>)

I hope you are all having a fantastic Easter :-) Luckily I have internet where I am in the IOW so I didn't have to wait and wish you a belated Happy Easter when I got back. It is also good because I get to show you all my Easter makes and goodies not-late too :D
It is a tradition in my family that my dad sets up a little Easter egg hunt in the house for Easter for me and my Brother, look at all the yummy goodies I found hidden round the house for me this morning!!!:

There was also a big Lindt bunny hidden too but he didn't last past breakfast, hehehe :P I am a very lucky girl!

You have probably spotted Catherine in there, she is wearing the Easter egg costume and Easter bonnet I made her especially to wear today:

The egg costume is a felt sandwich board style thing, I came up with the idea about two days ago and luckily finished it just in time yesterday!

The little straw hat came in a pack of about 12 I bought in the Hobbycraft January sales for £1.99, I knew I would find a use for them when I bought them and I was pleased to finally use some of the Easter ribbons I bought last year as well :)

In other holiday news I got to go my favourite little craft shop on the Island and picked up these two little cross stitch kits, I am going to make the little carriage one in commemoration of the Queens Jubilee :o)

On Tuesday I am off to make my own big Easter egg at the chocolate shop :D I am soooo excited!!!! I will definitely be posting up pictures, hopefully it will turn out well not just like a big choclately mess, lol!

See you all soon,

Bye! xxx

ATC fun :)

Hey!
After making the ATC's for the swap I did with Laura I have wanted to experiment and make more, so the other day, I did :-) I had lots of little cross stitch kits I finished a while ago (some of you may remember me posting about them) and have been trying to think of what to make them into and I thought why not make them into ATC's to expand my collection? I also made a different version of the 'American diner' one I made for the swap:

They really are so fun to make! They are quick and easy and really get your creative thoughts flowing :)

I am off to the Isle Of Wight again tomorrow for Easter :D Yay! Guess what.... for Easter this year my mum booked for me and my family to go and make our own big Easter eggs at Chocolate Island, I am so excited!!! I will be sure to keep you all posted if I have Internet access but if not I will make sure to post all my holiday snaps and news when I get home :0)

I hope you are all having a nice week!

see you all soon,

Pirate ship t-shirt!

Hello everyone :)

Welcome to my new followers also! Today was non uniform day at my 6th Form and I decided I would wear my domo hat about a week ago! I wasn't sure what top to wear though but then I remembered I had a stitched pirate ship t-shirt I started making agggeesss ago for a themed party but then it got cancelled :( So I thought I would finish it off for today, I managed it just in time:

I was really happy because everyone said it was really good :-)

I got the fabric in a bag of cuttings I bought from a craft shop in the IOW a while ago (I think I posted about it, it was only a £1 but I have found so many uses for all the bits of fabric so far!)

I really want to try stitching some more t-shirt designs soon, I have had lots of ideas.... hehehe :)

I am off to keep working on the ATC's I making for a swap I am doing with Laura from Cute crocheted creations at the end of March, I am sooo excited!

See you all soon,

Bye xxx
