A Jolly dolly day :)

Hellooo,

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend so far :-)

I've had a wonderful day today :) First of all I got out all of my Blythe dolls to gave them some long overdue love and attention! I revealed to Catherine a new little hat I created for her ( a bejewelled bear hat :o) as a sorry for leaving her in a box for so long, hehehe I think she liked it:

It will keep her warm now it is getting colder. (I also got a chance to make a few more of the Blythe hats, with matching scarves :P for my shop :)

Hehehe talking about things getting colder- I got a new girl to add to my doll collection today;

Scoops Waffle Cone! hahaha she is a Lalaloopsy doll- a super, super, kawaii one.

I have many plans for little outfits for her some of which  I will start making on my weeks holiday in  the IOW with my family which begins tomorrow, I can't wait!

She says she is pleased I am starting on her clothes soon as Catherine said she could borrow some of hers- but they don't really fit scoops, as you can see from her just trying the hat :P:

After my dolly filled morning I went out with my friends I hadn't seen for quite a while since I went to uni. We went to Costa Coffee and I had one of their sticky toffee coolers (milkshakes) which was delicious and then I went back to my friends house and we had some yummy pasta, chatted and watched TV- a very fun afternoon!

And if all that wasn't enough loveliness for one day when I got home I found this letter from my friend Eleanor over at My life, my thoughts, my hobbies It was lovely to read- I haven't received a letter in forever! And she even popped in some fun Halloween stickers for me too:

I hope my reply letter will make her as happy as her letter made me :0)

Thank you Eleanor! xxxx

I am off now to finish my day with a bit of Strictly come dancing with my family before we get packing.

See you soon,

Happy Easter everyone! =:0)

Hi,

HAPPY EASTER!!! (:<>)

I hope you are all having a fantastic Easter :-) Luckily I have internet where I am in the IOW so I didn't have to wait and wish you a belated Happy Easter when I got back. It is also good because I get to show you all my Easter makes and goodies not-late too :D
It is a tradition in my family that my dad sets up a little Easter egg hunt in the house for Easter for me and my Brother, look at all the yummy goodies I found hidden round the house for me this morning!!!:

There was also a big Lindt bunny hidden too but he didn't last past breakfast, hehehe :P I am a very lucky girl!

You have probably spotted Catherine in there, she is wearing the Easter egg costume and Easter bonnet I made her especially to wear today:

The egg costume is a felt sandwich board style thing, I came up with the idea about two days ago and luckily finished it just in time yesterday!

The little straw hat came in a pack of about 12 I bought in the Hobbycraft January sales for £1.99, I knew I would find a use for them when I bought them and I was pleased to finally use some of the Easter ribbons I bought last year as well :)

In other holiday news I got to go my favourite little craft shop on the Island and picked up these two little cross stitch kits, I am going to make the little carriage one in commemoration of the Queens Jubilee :o)

On Tuesday I am off to make my own big Easter egg at the chocolate shop :D I am soooo excited!!!! I will definitely be posting up pictures, hopefully it will turn out well not just like a big choclately mess, lol!

See you all soon,

Bye! xxx

Blythe sock hat - tutorial

Hello everyone :)

The other day I was sitting doing some work when I looked over at my girls Candy, Catherine and Etty.M and a pair of socks I got for Christmas sitting on my dresser and had an idea.... Blythe sock hats!

And here they are, I made them all one:

I thought it was really cool how different socks gave such different effects
:-)

They are very simple and fun to make so I thought I would post up a tutorial so any little Blythe out there who wants one can have one too!

Blythe sock hat tutorial:

You will need:
  • A needle
  • Some thread
  • A pen
  • A sewing pin
  • A sock, of course :)
  • And any decorations you want to add

How to:

First step, choose your sock!

Then turn it inside out and pop it onto your Blythe (or other dolls) head. Once you have got it on properly place a pin through both sides of the sock at the very top, where the hat should end:

Once you have done this carefully remove the sock, making sure not to displace the pin and pick up your pen! Onto the hat draw an outline of where you will be stitching, draw an outline similar to the red dotted line in the picture for a bunny style sock hat or the blue dotted line for a beanie hat (or you can experiment and come up with your own hat style):

Don't cut anything yet as if you cut before sewing the sock material will roll at the edges making stitching difficult. Stitch all the way around your outline:

Then carefully cut out you hat shape, leaving about 1/2 to 1 cm gap of sock around all the stitching. (If making a bunny hat make several small cuts at the bottom between the ears to prevent gathering up in  this area when turned right-side out):

Then turn you hat right side out...

... decorate, however you wish, and with whatever you wish....

... All finished!!!

I hope you like the tutorial :) <3

See you all soon,

Byeeeeee xxx

P.S. A huge massive thank you to Kerry from the fabby blog Ramblings of a bisconu addict and Rie from the super cute blog OMG toasties who both passed on  the liebster blog award to me as well as Laura :D I feel so very loved! xxx

Blythe swap outfit arrived!

Hello everyone!

A couple of days my outfit parcel from my partner in the Blythe swap arrived :D I was going to take pictures then but my camera battery ran out :( Oh well, never mind, now I have more batteries though so I can show off what I got in may lovely parcel :0)

Here are Catherine and Candy modelling the beautiful new additions to thier wardrobe. Candy loves the sweater and skirt, they compliment her hair so well and Catherine's spotty dress is so bright and happy! But who is that down if front? I hear you ask.... this is the new super cute addition to my blythe family also sent to me by my very genrous swap partner :)

I think I will call her Christina!

You couldn't see in the picture above but this is the bow headband which goes with Candy's dress, I love it! Sooo cute!

And if the spotty dress wasn't cool enough already it is also reversible, here is the pattern on the inside:

As well as all this my swap partner also included some little shiny star buttons and some charms in the parcel and said I could choose a free blythe pattern from her shop on ravelry, how kind! Thank you PandoraPhelps! :o)

Hehehe, here is Etty (short for Etty-Madeline, her full name :) talking to Christina and waiting for her turn to try on some of the beautiful clothes:

I made her the brown evening dress myself out of an old cushion cover, lol!

Hehehe, see you all soon,

Bye! XXX

P.s There are only a few days left to enter the mini blythe giveaway so don't miss out on your chance to win a little friend! Good luck :-)

Dolls Christmas party :3 + Free Blythe Cracker hat pattern!

Hello everyone!

It has been a very fun day today :) Candy and Catherine had a special Pre-Christmas party today with thier newest friend Penny (A tangkou doll I bought on Ebay :) They chatted lots and drunk quite alot of orange juice too! For this special occasion I made them all some Christmas cracker/party hats, they liked them alot. Hehehe here is a shot I got of them all in deep discussion about how Candy keeps her hair so pink, lol!:

I thought I would give away the hat Pattern free just in case there are any other Blythes anywhere in need of party hats :0D

Here it is....

You will need:
  • A pair of 3.25mm needles
  • DK yarn in any colour you want (the better quality/slightly thicker the better as this stretches less when ironing flat)
  • A darning needle
  • A pair of scissors
  • And an iron (or you can block your piece)
Party hat pattern:
(Avoid knitting too loosely as this could lead to hat being too big)

Cast on 66 sts
Row 1-7: Stst 7 rows beginning with a K row
Row 8: In P, cast off 1 st at each end and work purl over rest of sts (64 sts)
*Row 9: K8, then working on these sts only (leaving rest of sts on needle) work first point:
(P across on all even rows)
Row 11: K2tog, K4, K2tog (6 sts)
Row 13: K2tog, K2, K2tog (4 sts)
Row 15: K2tog twice (2 sts)
Row 17: K2tog (1st)
Then fasten off for first point*

Rejoin yarn and work from * to * to work next point and then following remaining 6 points (8 points in total)

Making up:

Darn in all loose ends leaving just cast on thread for sewing up hat later. Then carefully iron hat piece to flatten slightly, avoid ironing the piece heavily as this will flatten it too much causing the hat to be too large. Alternatively you can block the piece to flatten, this takes longer but it you do not stretch piece too much this does reduce chance of hat being too big. (elastic can be sewn in to hat if this does happen anyway :) Then finally mattress stitch two end edges of crown together. You can then add any decorations you want :0)

All done!

I hope you like the pattern and I hope it enhances some other Blythe/doll parties! :0P

See you all very soon,

It's not long till Christmas now, I can't wait!

Bye!! xxx

Abbreviations:
st(s) = Stitch(es)
K = Knit
P = Purl
K2tog = Knit two stitches together
Stst = Stocking stitch

Introducing... Candy! :)

Hi everyone :)

For passing my driving theory test my nan (very generously!) gave me £20 to spend on whatever I wanted, later when I was looking at stuff on ebay I saw some beautiful basaak dolls, Blythe clones, which were only about £21 each so I ordered one using my treat money and the other day she arrived!!!! She like Catherine was very nicely packaged and tied up string and everything:

And here she is...

I called her Candy :)
(a suggestion from knittinggirl on Ravelry which seems to fit her perfectly and she loves!)

She is quite shy but her and Catherine are getting on like a house on fire! Catherine is very happy to have a new friend :)

Candy's hair clip was one of the many pretty extras (The seller even included a pretty little bag for me with London buses and things on, so cute!) which came with her but I designed and made the outfit she is wearing in the picture for her :0)

Catherine's new coat was a gift to me for passing my theory test from my mum (I have a very generous family! :-) She really likes it and doesn't want to take it off because it keeps her soo snuggly and warm!

Im off now, I have some work to do before having pizza for dinner and then watching glee with my mum Catherine and Candy, lol :P

See you all soon,

Bye from all three of us! xxx

Bonfire Night!

Hi everyone :)

I hope you all had a good bonfire/firework night (if you celebrate that) or happy Eid or Diwali if you celebrete either of those! (hehehe there have been lots of festivals recenlty!)

On Sunday (although actual Bonfire night was Saturday) some friends came round and my family had some fireworks. Some of them were really good this year! Very pretty :)

I let Catherine come out and watch them with me but I made sure she put her hat on because it was quite cold! These two were her favourites :-) :

Hehehe, she was perplexed by the bright green one!

We had lots of fun :)

The next day I got this cool card through the post from Innocent smoothies for helping out with the big knit :D:

It's very cool, it even has my name written inside and a thank you message.

I was very happy as now I have another knitting related ceftificate to add to my achievement folder!

I hope you are all having a nice week,

See you soon!

Bye xxxx

Happy Halloween!

Hi :D

Happy Halloween everyone! I hope you are all having a fantastic day :-)

On Saturday I went round my friends house for a Halloween party and I dressed as a zombie, I was a little girl zombie with a pink dress and pink fluffy shoulder warmer (if that's what they are called?). My costume was based on the girl on the front of the book 'Dawn of the Dreadfuls' :) I brought Catherine too wearing the Halloween costume I made her, you can see her outfit here:

She is checking out the pumpkin me and my brother carved together! :0) Hehehe

The dress is quite basic, but I am very proud of it as I designed it and made it without a pattern!

And as usual, this Halloween, me and my family made a special Halloween meal of ghostie pizzas! Here is my one:

Hahaha, some cheese and a tomato fell in one of his eyes :P

My dad made the dough while me and my brother were at school and then we put all the toppings on and turned them into ghosts! They were very tasty! :0D

I'm off now to wait for more trick or treaters, we have only had one set tonight so far so hopefully more come as I still have lots of sweets to give out,

See you all soon (very soon in fact for the special giveaway I have been talking about!)

Bye X :) X

IOW update!

Hi everybody, I hope you are all having a nice week!

It's only day two of my holiday and I have already managed to pick up some great stuff including a mega crafty bargain! In this little craft shop they had a big box of craft paper and you could get 20 sheets for £1. Me and my dad started looking in the box and picking up loads of sheets then my dad asked the lady how much for the box and she said £10, only £10!!!!! For all of these sheets..... :D

And the decorative cutting scissors were three pairs for just a £1! (my dad got one pair and I got the other two :)

There are hundreds of sheets of beautiful papers, perfect for making labels for all of my handmade prezzies for people.

In WH Smith I picked up a big sketchpad because I have wanted to make my own design portfolio for ages and now with all this lovely paper I have no excuse!

Along with Quirky I am making good progress on my other long running project, my dice scarf! I am aiming to finish it by the end of my holidays, so far I am on track :)

I reallly, really want to finish it so I can finally wear it, I want to wear it to 6th form :0)

The IOW is really good for finding unique handmade stuff :) Me and my family went to an apple orchard yesterday and got to pick some of our own apples (apples are my favourite fruit so I was very excited!!!:D). Then In the gift shop I found this beautiful handmade enchanted style apple clock for my room, (my dad treated me to it :)

Isn't it just lovely! <3 it looks so pretty and yummy and juicy :0P

Its almost my bedtime now but I will leave you with this picture of Catherine sitting watching the birds at the pretty grounds of Calbourne mill, where me and my family stayed in a cottage the time before last:

We had a great day out there, I really love the chocolate cake and jam and buttercream sponge they have there, mmmm.. :P I shared my slice of choclate cake with Catherine she said she liked it too!

See you all vey soon,

Bye! XxXx

Off to the Isle Of Wight :)

Hey,

I am off to the Isle Of Wight tommorrow, I am very excited :D There are lots of things I want to buy in the shops there (Including some stuff to complete a very very special giveaway I will be announcing on the 1st of November!!!) and lots of things I want to do, again! :P Catherine is of course coming along, I will be showing her all my favourites places; the chocolate shop and craft shops :0)

Ill be sure to keep you all updated with whats going on!

In other news, yesterday I started Catherine's Halloween costume ready for the dress up Halloween party at my friends when I get back, I manged to finish her crochet pumpkin hat :) I made the pattern myself:

I'm glad she likes it, only problem is no she won't take it off! Only her dress left now, I have an idea of what I want it to look like but I'll probably see as I go along :0)

Anyway, I've got to go pack my bag now :) I have to get all my craft stuff together so I can finish some projects while I'm away!

For my lunch tommorrow I picked up some vegetarian sushi in Sainsbury's. I've never eaten sushi before so I am very excited to try it, hehehe :P

See you all soon,

Bye!!!!! XXXX

Happy, happy, happy , my lovely Blythe arrived! :D

Hello everyone!
Quite a while ago some of you may remember that I posted about Blythe dolls and how I really wanted one... well a couple of weeks ago I managed to pick one up on eBay for a really good price (about £62) and today she arrived!!!!!!!!!! :D

The parcel was soo beautifully wrapped (with string and everything!!!) which made me even more excited when I saw it when I got home from 6th form!

I carefully opened the parcel and found my lovely doll inside <3 She is a simply chocolate Blythe :P

Whilst I have been waiting for her to come I knitted her a hat using this: simple Blythe hat pattern I found on Ravelry and sewed her a little dress using this! pattern. Here she is all snuggled up wearing both!:

After the long journey she has had (all the way from Hong Kong!) we have just been relaxing and watching T.V together.
I decided to name her Catherine :) She said she liked the name a lot and she really likes Mr. Mini Circus Elephant too! :0)

I'm so excited about all the fun we are going to have together! And all the lovely outfits I can make for her :D

See you all soon,

bye from me (and Catherine!) XxX
