A Jolly dolly day :)

Hellooo,

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend so far :-)

I've had a wonderful day today :) First of all I got out all of my Blythe dolls to gave them some long overdue love and attention! I revealed to Catherine a new little hat I created for her ( a bejewelled bear hat :o) as a sorry for leaving her in a box for so long, hehehe I think she liked it:

It will keep her warm now it is getting colder. (I also got a chance to make a few more of the Blythe hats, with matching scarves :P for my shop :)

Hehehe talking about things getting colder- I got a new girl to add to my doll collection today;

Scoops Waffle Cone! hahaha she is a Lalaloopsy doll- a super, super, kawaii one.

I have many plans for little outfits for her some of which  I will start making on my weeks holiday in  the IOW with my family which begins tomorrow, I can't wait!

She says she is pleased I am starting on her clothes soon as Catherine said she could borrow some of hers- but they don't really fit scoops, as you can see from her just trying the hat :P:

After my dolly filled morning I went out with my friends I hadn't seen for quite a while since I went to uni. We went to Costa Coffee and I had one of their sticky toffee coolers (milkshakes) which was delicious and then I went back to my friends house and we had some yummy pasta, chatted and watched TV- a very fun afternoon!

And if all that wasn't enough loveliness for one day when I got home I found this letter from my friend Eleanor over at My life, my thoughts, my hobbies It was lovely to read- I haven't received a letter in forever! And she even popped in some fun Halloween stickers for me too:

I hope my reply letter will make her as happy as her letter made me :0)

Thank you Eleanor! xxxx

I am off now to finish my day with a bit of Strictly come dancing with my family before we get packing.

See you soon,

Blythe Halloween costume- complete!

Hi guys,

As I mentioned a couple of posts ago I started working on a little Halloween costume for my Blythe dolls and today I finished it! Here is Mirabelle modelling her new witch outfit! :03

I am very pleased with how it came out :D It is one of the more detailed costumes I have made for my dolls :) I added little beads to the front to give some sparkle and embroidered the neckline a bit too. The hat was really fun to make and I added a red ribbon band to make it match the dress!

Mirabelle can't wait to show her costume off at my halloween party I am having with friends on friday :oP  (We are having a party early as I will be in the IOW when it is actually Halloween.)

Now I have finished my dolls costume I can start on mine, lol! I am going to be Mummy,I bought some bandages yesterday and dipped them in tea to 'age' them now Ive got to go shread my T-shirt a bit so I will be ready for Friday!

See you all soon,

Bye my lovely friends xxxx

Astronauts and Blythe outfits!

Hi guys!

Over the weekend just gone me and my family went to an autograph convention as my brother collects autographs and he also loves space and quite a few astronauts were going too :) (There was also a uni open day near where we stayed which was good as I got to look round!!!) I thought it would be a bit boring if I'm honest but it wasn't bad at all, quite cool in fact! I saw Buzz Aldrin (2nd man on the moon) from afar and also Charlie Duke (anotehr moon walker) said hi to me too :0D Heheh my brother was like ' I'm sooo jelous!', lol! In the end though he got to meet and have his picture taken with all the astronauts so he has a cool collection now :-)

In the evening It was good becuase I got to relax in the room and make a start on my Blythe dolls Halloween costume! I will post pictures when I'm done but it is still in consturction phase in the moment. It is a witch inspired costume... I hope it comes out ok :P I think with my sewing course and tailors experience I am getting better, lol!

I hope you all had a fun weekend too,

See you soon,

Bye! xxx

Holiday (and Olympic!) snaps :)

Hi guys!

I am back now and as promised I bring you pictures, lol :P Hehehe, I will try not to bore you all! (I have only chosen my best snaps :)

Here is the view from the back of the glass bottom boat, the water was very blue in Malta and it was ALWAYS hot and sunny:

Interestingly there is no tide in Malta... I don't know why, there just isn't! :-P

This is the best picture I could get of the fish through the windows at the bottom of the boat:

It was cool to the see the 'underwater world' though I did feel a little bit sea sick!

Hehehe, here is the infamous 'Maxibon cookie', soooooo tasty :0)

It got a bit battered on the way home from the shop but It was still very yummy!

If only it was possible I would have got one for a giveaway, lol!

Another thing that was super tasty was the ice cream filled croissants me and my family had by the sea front, I very much recommend giving it a try at home:

I had cookie and banana ice cream......mmmmmm.... I wish I had one now :)

In the main set of shops near our parade they had lots of handmade Maltese lace and my mum and dad treated me to this beautiful umbrella, I absolutely love it. I can't wait too use it in the park on a sunny day or at  the next family barbecue!

Last of my holiday snaps are the pictures of some of my makes :-):

Hehehe, I hope you all had a nice couple of weeks while I was away too (and I hope my pics didn't bore you too much :P) xxx

In other news as I'm sure all of you will already know London is hosting the 2012 Olympics! Me and my family luckily managed to get some tickets, we got to go and watch the handball today. I had watched quite a few events on TV whilst on holiday so I was quite excited to go and see the Olympic park in real life. (I'm also lucky I only live 10 mins from Stratford so we didn't have a long journey to get there either!)

Here is the main Olympic stadium, what you  see as you walk in:

It is a very pretty stadium. As you can see from the picture the park was relatively crowded but not jam-packed which was good as it was quite hot today. The queue for the mega store was huge but it did move quickly and only took about 10 mins to get into the shop for a look.

I also saw the velodrome quite clearly too:

I got to go into the basketball stadium though as that was where the handball was

The basketball stadium:

Here are some pictures inside I took from my seat:

It was the mens quarter final, Spain V France. It was quite exciting at the end as it was 22, 22 with two seconds to go and then France scored to win the match. They told you all the rules at the start so that was good as then I knew what was going on :-P

I promise there will be less pictures in the next post, I will give all your eyes a rest! I just wanted to share with you all my adventures :)

See you all soon my lovely lovely friends!

Bye XxXxX

P.S. In the next couple of days I will be celebrating my Second Blogaversairy (well belated one as it was a few days ago now) as I mentioned before I went away so make sure to check back soon :D

Holiday update

Hi guys,

I hope all of you are well! I found a place where there is Internet in the hotel so I thought I would do a quick post about my holiday so far :)

It is a pretty slow pace of life here in Malta so me and my family have just been having lazy and relaxing days really which is good as it means I have had lots of crafting time!

I got round to making some of these knitted chocolate bar brooches I had the idea for a while ago, I made some in milk and dark (I am having trouble with uploading pictures at the moment so I will post some up another time :o) I also made some hoods for my Blythes, a tiger one and a hamster one, and I stitched a mini creepy style prom dress for my Monster High doll.

There is a pool in the hotel though so I think I will come back fitter than when I left as I have been going swimming twice most days! hehehe :P The fruit here is also nice, especially the peaches, they ripen better than at home because of the heat.

There aren't many shops really, only mini supermarkets but one of them does sell some packet drinks mixes (kind of like kool aid) so I think I will be buying some of them to try some more yarn dying as I really enjoyed it when I dyed my own yarn before but they don't really sell the drink mixes in the UK.

I'm off for a swim in the pool now, then I might go buy those drink mixes, lol :P

See you all again soon

Bye XxXx

Blythe sock hat - tutorial

Hello everyone :)

The other day I was sitting doing some work when I looked over at my girls Candy, Catherine and Etty.M and a pair of socks I got for Christmas sitting on my dresser and had an idea.... Blythe sock hats!

And here they are, I made them all one:

I thought it was really cool how different socks gave such different effects
:-)

They are very simple and fun to make so I thought I would post up a tutorial so any little Blythe out there who wants one can have one too!

Blythe sock hat tutorial:

You will need:
  • A needle
  • Some thread
  • A pen
  • A sewing pin
  • A sock, of course :)
  • And any decorations you want to add

How to:

First step, choose your sock!

Then turn it inside out and pop it onto your Blythe (or other dolls) head. Once you have got it on properly place a pin through both sides of the sock at the very top, where the hat should end:

Once you have done this carefully remove the sock, making sure not to displace the pin and pick up your pen! Onto the hat draw an outline of where you will be stitching, draw an outline similar to the red dotted line in the picture for a bunny style sock hat or the blue dotted line for a beanie hat (or you can experiment and come up with your own hat style):

Don't cut anything yet as if you cut before sewing the sock material will roll at the edges making stitching difficult. Stitch all the way around your outline:

Then carefully cut out you hat shape, leaving about 1/2 to 1 cm gap of sock around all the stitching. (If making a bunny hat make several small cuts at the bottom between the ears to prevent gathering up in  this area when turned right-side out):

Then turn you hat right side out...

... decorate, however you wish, and with whatever you wish....

... All finished!!!

I hope you like the tutorial :) <3

See you all soon,

P.S. A huge massive thank you to Kerry from the fabby blog Ramblings of a bisconu addict and Rie from the super cute blog OMG toasties who both passed on  the liebster blog award to me as well as Laura :D I feel so very loved! xxx

Blythe downsizing challenge

Hello everyone,

A while ago in the Blythe swap on Ravelry someone posted up a downsizing challenge thread, I thought this was a cool idea; making mini versions of bigger patterns so I thought I would join in :)

The pattern I decided to make a mini version of was Twinkie Chan's Cupcake hat, hehehe :-) Here is Etty.M wearing my mini creation!:

I knitted it instead of crochet. I spool/french knitted the top bit then sewed it all swirly, that's why it took me so long to make!

It will keep Etty.M warm in the snow we had where I live recently so I finished in perfect time, hehehehe :o)

I am off now to add the finishing touches to my family's bookmarks ready for wrapping them, I will post pictures when they are all wrapped nicely so you can see them all. I decided on birds for the theme of my mums one :)

See you all soon,

bye byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! xxxxx

Blythe outfit swap

Hello everyone :)

A while ago on Ravelry I joined the Knitting for Blythe group and a month ago a handmade outfit swap was opened! I was really excited and signed up straight away and got to work on an idea for my outfit, last week I posted mine off and may partner has now received it (and really likes it!!!! :0D) so now I can show it to you. It was apple themed and I tried to package it up like a real outfit you can buy, I call my outfit 'Orchard cutie!':

I designed the dress and hat, the scarf was inspired by the one I was sent by the lovely Laura in the cute and quirky swap and used a pattern from Puchi Collective for the shirt :) I hand felted the little apple too, just for fun!

As an extra I included these little crocheted Bunny slippers (my own pattern :)

Hehehe, It was really fun making my outfit!

I can't wait to see what outfit I get sent to meeee! :D

See you all soon,

Bye XXX
