Happy Belated Christmas

Hi everyone, 

This is a Happy Belated Christmas post as my Internet was down for a short while. So first off I'd like to say that I hope you all had a fabulous christmas!!! :D

And next, as we have passed the christmas period I can bring you a picture of the contents of the crafty christmas advent Calendar;

Now onto a little bit about my Christmas, I had a lovely day with my family eating a delicious Christmas dinner cooked by my dad :D And then there was lots of present exchanging which is always fun too! Everyone was so generous and I got some lovely presents :-)

I got a wig stand (in my size :) which is extremely useful for testing hat patterns on:

And then I got lots of hat making materials So I can get to work and make a range of hats and fascinators using my new hat books I also got for inspiration:

I also got a book on wedding traditions in different cultures.  I have learnt so much from it  already! All the information will come in really useful for my 3rd year project I plan to do so I have been taking notes as I read :p

my last present I want to show you is my sylvainian families harvester. This is an older sylvanian family set so my family had to put quite a bit if effort into sourcing it! I thought it was really cute though and filled with all my sylvainian people and a bit of extra food and look at my bustling bistro!:

My last bit of christmas news I bring you is of the hats I helped my family make for christmas eve for fun. I used my new millinery skills. My hat is the crazy stripy one in the middle!

:p they were all based on historical styles I was really making everyone be a costume nerd :p

Christmas catch-up!

Hello everyone,

I had quite a whirlwind of a Christmas- which, looking around here on blog land it seems everyone else did too :)

 

I had a great Christmas- it was so lovely spending the whole day with my family, eating lots of lovely food, watching telly and giving each other prezzies!

 

My family and friends were extremely generous and also thoughtful so I would like to thank them all very much and say that I am lucky and thankful to have them all around me xxx

First up on my Christmas catch up is Christmas eve :) Here is a picture of the white chocolate, vanilla and strawberry yule log (the recipe I made up through my mini knitted yule logs :P) I made for my nan to take round when me and my family went round in the evening:

 

 

Haha, I made the holly decoration from icing to make it look like an exact big version of my knitted pattern, lol :P I thought it tasted really nice, I will definitely be making another one in the new year sometime. Very sweet and tasty :)

I may even like it better than milk chocolate log.... mmmm, a hard decision..... I think I'll just stick to having both :P  My nan thought it was cool to have a different version for a change :)

 

For my aunt, whose house we went round before we went to my nans (Christmas eve was busy this year!) I made two of my little Christmas tree decorations:

 

She hung them straight on her tree :) Yay! :-)

Hehe, now on to Christmas day, and first up, these little cuties:

 

 

Aren't they sweet! They were presents from my parents, because they know how much I love hamsters :3

 

I also got Norman (hehe I named him, and also decorated him :) to help me with my life drawing:

 

And my nan got me another lalaloopsy, with beautiful red hair, to be friends with scoops my other lalaloopsy:

 

They are getting along well :)

 

My build a bear (Georgia) even got a gift this year, thanks to my (Wonderfully fabulous!) brother:

 

So adorable- her little elf boots match the ones I made for myself, that made me smile a lot!

 

I got some wonderful costume and fashion books and things too, as well as my new pride and joy- my half scale mannequin!!!!!!:

 

Which I have already started to practice my draping and patternmaking on! :D My parents were worried it was too small as they thought half scale was bigger but when I opened it I assured them that it was utterly perfect! It is really great for practicing patternmaking on as you don't use up so much fabric.

 

My Dad made a fabulous Christmas dinner as usual and we even tried some of the cranberry and orange stuffing with it that I put in the hamper I put together for my family :) And in the evening I had some quality streets and chocolate from my stocking, so overall a fantastic day!

 

I would just like to thank my wonderful family and friends again for their generosity and to say that just being able to spend time with them is honestly enough of a gift, I love them all very much xxx

 

And thank you to all readers of my blog too for popping over and saying hi to me too, I hope you are all having a lovely festive time surrounded by family and friends too :) xxx

 

Last bit on my catch up before I go, today me and my mum went to see Dirty Dancing at the Piccadilly Theatre in London, we had front row seats (surprisingly front row was cheaper!?) which meant we had an amazing view, up so close I could see all the costumes and the show was really, really, great- I recommend it highly if you can get down there to see it :)  Very fun, and lots of good dancing!

 

I will speak to you all again soon, I am off to my other Aunty's house tomorrow so that will be nice, we always go for a walk to the shops to do some sale shopping so that is fun to see what bargains we can find :P

Busy as an elf :P

Hiii,

Although I am off college for my Christmas Holidays now I have been keeping myself super busy completing all the different activities I wanted to do from the list in last post and more!

This week I have done more work on my elf boot pattern and have managed to completely finish one of them:

 

Fully lined with glittery Christmassy coloured fabric too :P

 

 

Just the other one to stitch up now, which shouldn't be too hard since I have made one of them I now know the easiest way to do everything. I reckon I will have them on my feet by Saturday morning as I have some time to sew tomorrow evening and Friday morning- between work at the tailors/dressmakers and me and my friends Christmas party :D

 

Hehehe, then I really can run around like a mad, busy elf, lol!

 

Other festive crafting I am doing involves making 8 of the mini yule logs (from the pattern I posted up :) for when some family friends come round on Sunday, only 1/2 of one left to knit and then the making up/decorating to do:

 

 

I will definitely have them done!

 

Today I managed to wrap my first presents of the year- for my friends, ready for our party :D (and I made all my present labels for everyone):

 

 

And me and my dad made this sweetie tree:

 

 

Mmmm, yummy!

 

I am off now to go and relax in my bath now, with- you guessed it- Christmassy bubble bath in it! Heheh, then it is time to get back to working on those mini knitted yule logs so I can start on my next knitting project- cute Christmassy headbands for my little cousins :-)

It's my birthday!!!

Hello,

Yes, today is officially my Birthday! :D I have had a fabulous day with my lovely family :-)

 

My Dad as usual amazed me with the birthday cake he made for me- it was so lovely to look at and to eat! (though my eyes were too big for my belly and I ate a bit too much :P)

 

Here it is in all its lovely leopard print and cute little mouse/bunny glory :D:

Also as usual I was blown away by my family's generosity and thoughtfulness in the presents they got me because having them is a gift enough- and all the lovely stuff they got me ready for uni too- I seriously thought I might wake up and have stuff taken off me instead of getting more gifts as it seems like I have had more than my lot already!

I am soo excited about reading all of these books :) I have already gained inspiration for my Halloween costume from the fashion book my friend got me :P

 

Hehe, two Kawaii fuzzy Llamas and a fluffy jacket to match- what more could a girl ask for? ;)

 

My mum got me the two little craft kits and my wonderful, lovely, brilliant brother got me the Hamtaro Bijou plush (he also got me a very cool Domo poster which I will post a picture of when it is up and the words he wrote inside my card he made for me were so lovely that they made me cry! And on top of all of that he offered to buy me a film and a Mcflurry- because I love them so much!)

 

I can now top up my chocolate stash thanks to my friends and dad (my friends also got me a pretty picture frame with a picture in it of all of us at my Halloween party dressed up- haha, it is coming to uni with to make me smile each day)

 

Some lunchboxes and luxurious bath stuff courtesy of my dad, I love the cat lunchbox as it reminds me of the Lucky Chinese cats!

 

And last but by far not least some cool Dvds and Cds. I have been wanting to watch the films for ages- mainly for all the amazing costumes in them and who doesn't love a bit of Andre Rieu? :P

The month of Mum :P

Hola!,

 

As most of you will know next Sunday is Mothers day :) As well as this it is also my mums birthday next Wednesday so I have been busy prepping for both occasions :P

 

My mum has recently been trying out some different styles so for her birthday I thought I would give her an accessory box, a little box filled with all different little bits for her to wear. I have bought a couple of things to go in the box but I have also been making some stuff to go in it so she has some super unique accessories too! Here is all the stuff I have made so far...

It has been fun making them and experimenting with new techniques and mixing different items :) I hope my mum likes them all. I will probably make a few more things as every time I finish one thing I get another idea, lol :P

 

For Mothers day I think I am getting her a film for us to watch and some chocolate for her to enjoy. I am also going to try and get a cross stitch card done.

 

Hehehe, lots of crafting and so few days left! I bet get started on it again :-)

Christmas crafting

 

Hi guys,

 

Thank you for all the good wishes for my interviews :0)

 

The other day one of the people who work with my mum gave her a cool costume calendar to give to me as a present. It was so cool and had some beautiful pictures of period costumes in it, I can't wait to start using it in January :) As a thank you I made her two of my Christmas tree decorations (pattern can be found on the free pattern page at the top of the blog! :-):

 

 

My mum said she really liked them and left them on her desk all day and kept telling people I had made them! Hehehe, that made me smile :)

 

Another gift I made was this pincushion for my sewing teacher as it was the last class last Wednesday (sorry for the picture I took it just before I went to the evening class so it was a bit dark in my room):

 

I was pleased with how it came out, I went for a super-christmassy theme! My teacher thought it was sweet so I was very happy as I was a bit unsure about giving her a pincushion as I thought she might have hundreds of them already :P

 

I'm almost done for my preparations for Christmas and tomorrow I break up for the holidays so I should then have time to finish off the last little bits.

My Birthday :D

Helloooo,

As I mentioned today is my Birthday! :) I have had an amazingly fantastic day and feel thoroughly loved from all the good wishes from all my friends and family.

As usual my Dad blew me away with the amazing cake he made me! It was Domo themed as he knows how much I love the little guy :0) My dad was a little bit dissapointed as Domo fell off the top off the cake (he was standing up) 40mins before my dad was going to pick me up from 6th form but I think he did a brilliant repair job :) (And even if the cake had completely collapsed I still would have loved it because of all the effort and love that went in to it!) He added funny little signs like 'ouch' hehehe cos domo fell over that made me laugh because domo is mischevious :P Here it is:

 

Everything is edible and it's all delicious! I had a huuugggggeee slice when I got in and I'll another bit having some for breakfast tommorrow :0P

 

I had so many lovely gifts to open too :-) One of my (brilliant) friends was so generous she brought me ten gifts all wrapped up individually and some pretty flowers! They were all so fitting to me too :D And my parents and brother got me some fantastic presents too, my brother got me a special kung-fu domo and domo DVD and my parents got me a weaving loom, some more monster high dolls, a beautiful apple print bag, costume books (as that is what I really want to study at uni next year), an iron which I asked for for ironing fabric and stuff (our one is reallly old :P) and more! I feel very lucky to have such nice people to share my birthday with, that includes all of you lovely readers too :)

 

Tommorrow I am off to London with my three best friends for my party. As I like sewing and cute stuff I decided I wanted to take them all to Build a bear (lol, not what your average 18 year old does :P) and then we are having a meal somewhere and doing a bit of shopping :) I am super excited so I better go get my sleep for the busy day ahead!

My tooth is gone!

Hi guys,

Today was the day I got my wisdom tooth taken out! I was a bit scared when I was sitting in the dentists waiting (wearing Norman my wisdom tooth badge, of course :0) but the dentist and dentist nurse were very nice. The numbing injection was the bit that hurt the most (well it hurts a bit now too) but during that I had to try and find outer mongolia on the map on the ceiling, hehehee!

Why I got home (with a numb mouth and dribbling everywere!) my very generous family gave me the gifts they very generously got me for being brave :) Here is the beautiful doll my mum got me:

She is sooo lovely <3 I cant wait to make some clothes for her, I have just got to finish the mermaid costume I am making for my Tangkou doll (pictures coming soon :D)

I haven't decided on a name for her yet... maybe Tianna? :)

Here is the jumper my dad got me, I am always cold so my dad got it for me to keep me nice and snuggly! hehhehe and because the label says 'brave soul' on it lol :o)

And my super duper, lovely jubbly, fandabby dosy brother got me these two brilliant gifts!

A Domokun plush and VEGGIE MARSHMALLOWS made by Sweet Vegan! I have been looking for veggie marshmallows

F-O-R-E-V-E-R!!!! and never found them and Domo is hysterical, I LOVE him! :D (my brother showed me the Domo show on you tube, well worth a look, it is very funny :o)

Hehehehe, I am hugging my lovely Domo now <3 (and eating my marshmallows :0P)

My nan and auntie also got me some bath stuff so I can relax and rewind if my mouth is hurting,

Hi guys!

I have had a wonderful day and I hope all of you have too :)

I had and amazing surprise when I came down this morning and my first prezzie was revealed to me... My very own Great white shark (they are my favourite animal) that swims in the air! I called him Bubbles:

 Heehee, he is coming for you! lol :0)

This very cool creepy crochet book that I saw in a shop and thought was great. I really want to make murdering mental Mary from inside the book, she looks very funny!

I absolutely love this beautiful crafty themed handmade charm bracelet they got me, I'm never going to take it off!

And look who else came from underneath the wrapping paper... :)

 Hehehe, She fits right in with the gang! (I got the outfits for Christmas too :)

Me, my brother and my dad always watch spongebob as my parents bought me this spongebob hug t-shirt!
